"Michael Owen may be another target for Martin O'Neill. He would be a great strike partner for former Liverpool, Birmingham and Wigan striker Emile Heskey, who has signed on Friday, 23rd January, 2009 for £3 1/2 million" (Cazyo Candri) [+/-]

"Gareth Barry will not go to Liverpool as they are NOT a Premier winner. They win many European games but they are one off performances, albeit excellent. If he moves it will be to Arsenal.
Also he will be disappointed to note that Rafa actually values him at less than Crouch. £10m offer. £15m for Crouch???
The real price to buy Barry will be nearer to £25m if the AVFC are to be tempted.
AVFC have not gone big in the transfer market yet as MON has been assessing the overall squad he has at VP. So expect a massive movement this summer for some of the more established Prem. players.
Ashton is on the wish list as is Bentley. Bullard from FFC is being watched closely. Since his return from injury he has performed brilliantly. Guzen from the states will arrive: he signed in January but could not get a work permit; so he will put pen to paper now.
Henry is also being monitored. Imagine the scenario. Young, Henry, Agbonlahor, 0 to 60 in about 3 secs. Frightening!!! Also I heard that several players from eastern Europe have been scrutinized and are available at realistic money, so wait for this to happen.
Arrivals could be in the region of 10/12 players with several players being allowed to depart.
Sorenson, who will have him?
Mellburg, already gone to Juve.
Knight, very unhappy at going down the pecking order and Davies will be back in Sept.
Petrov will go back to Rangers.
Maloney will possibly go north somewhere, great loss.
Finally Harewood has not had an opportunity to show what he can do on the pitch. He will go on to become a 20 goals a season man with WBA a likely home." (Malcolm) [+/-]
